MapDetroit.com is a web based application built by Naviciti that delivers
a virtual experience of Downtown Detroit’s
Central Business District to the tri-county area
and the world. The MapDetroit.com application is
unique in that it is an easy to use geospatial,
multimedia mapping system that integrates database
information and geographic reference points with
search capability, allowing the user to search or
browse specific points of interest.
The unique benefit of MapDetroit.com is its ability
to connect you to your specific point of interest
and allow you to immediately navigate the surrounding
area. We believe this unique perspective will create
a revolution in the way metropolitan communities
interact and communicate online.
MapDetroit.com
is a work in progress. We’re
working hard to create the web’s best resource
for information on the people, places, and events
that make Downtown Detroit an exciting, vibrant
community. We want to deliver the information you
want, when you want it.
We

MapDetroit.com
was designed with you, the user, in mind. MapDetroit
can deliver the information you’re after about
any business, entertainment venue, or service provider
within our coverage area with the simple click of
a mouse.
For
example, click the “Hotel Lodging”
category to view a listing of all downtown Detroit
hotels as they are simultaneously highlighted
on the map. Move your cursor over the accommodation
of your choice and a “Tool-Tip” appears
to provide you with information about that location.
Once
you’ve discovered your hotel, click the
“Restaurants” category to view all
restaurants in the immediate vicinity of your
hotel. It’s that easy.
Information
The MapDetroit.com database is among the most
comprehensive listings of Downtown Detroit's dining,
lodging, parking, retail, attractions, landmarks,
banks, entertainment venues, municipal buildings
and transportation services. Like many other familiar
database applications, the MapDetroit.com search
function uses keywords to search for the requested
content. We have taken this capability to the
next level by also making it searchable by street,
building name and business or service type.
