Belle
Isle Interactive Map Now Available
at MapDetroit.com
Over the last few months,
we’ve worked with personnel from the
Detroit Recreation Department to create the
first interactive guide to Belle Isle, America’s
largest city-owned island park – and
one of the most beautiful places in Michigan.
We’re pleased to present it to you now
as the first expansion of MapDetroit’s
coverage area.
Just
click on the Belle Isle tab at the top of
the main MapDetroit window, and discover the
streets, landmarks, running and biking trails,
and sports facilities that make Belle Isle
“Detroit’s Gem.” And don’t
forget to check out the “events”
section to see what’s going on –
if it’s happening there, you’ll
find it here.
The Belle Isle map is just the first in a
series of planned enhancements to the MapDetroit
system. We'll be adding more areas, more features,
and more media soon.

MapDetroit Surpasses 1,000,000th
Search Milestone
MapDetroit
is your site for information about the downtown
area – and you’ve proved it.
Recently the MapDetroit system logged it’s
1,000,000th search, and to us this means
that we are fulfilling our mission of providing
residents, city visitors, and the world
at large with a first-class guide to the
heart of where they work, live, and play.
And it only gets better from here. This
week, we’ve launched the first interactive
guide to Belle Isle, and we’ll be
adding new features and new map areas in
just the next couple of weeks. Check back
soon.
MapDetroit
Beta 2.5 continues to work for
you in a whole new way. Our integrated “Events”
function allows you to find out what’s
going on, when, and where. Concert? Sporting
event? Club night? Public gathering? Select
a Map, click on a building and see what’s
happening there. Search by keyword or by
specific date ranges. Search your way –
and let us help you. Start by clicking on
the green “Events”
tab in the upper right of the Map window,
and let Detroit show you what it’s
got.
The Belle Isle map is just the first in
